June 2011 Sports for Life Programmed Expands its Objectives |
| One of the main objectives of the work being done by the YCWJ‐OSE is the development of strategic partnerships, which will allow its various stakeholders to build capacity to the ultimate end of being able to sustain their own operations. This approach has continued to bear fruit in light of the networks that have been created as a result of the Sports for Life program. After the launch of the program, there have been numerous developments that have taken place at the local level with community interests as well as those at the school level in furtherance o f the ideas embedded in the program. At the Sports for Life launch Warren Bloise, of the JJHSASN, had made some commitments towards ensuring that there were some tangible benefits to be gained from the program; in addition to the technical know‐how that the sporting fraternity would bee sharing with the communities and schools. This has born fruit in the form of plans for the Jamaica High School Alumni Sporting Network too erect a Multipurpose Sports Facility at the Melrose Primary and Junior High School. Additionally, personnel from the engineering department of the Ministry of National Security assisted with the drafting of the blueprint for the structure. With the blueprint know completed, the members of the JHSASNN team will begin their efforts to raise the needed funds to help with thee construction of the facility |
